Our mission

Why you should go?

In recent years, for students all around the world, countries like Germany have become easily accessible, especially with low-cost air companies.
But still, administration and paperwork proved to be difficult to handle on your own, and that’s where we come in.

Our goal is to enable students to get to know Germany and its culture, gain new knowledge, experience new things, expand their circle of friends, and return home satisfied, richer with new stories, and additionally equipped to continue education and career development.

By working and traveling, you will improve your German language, gain work experience, get to know Germany, and take great impressions with you. With all that, the documentation and the procedure for obtaining a work permit have been reduced to a minimum.
Before we opened the agency we were a Work and Travel goes ourselves, therefore we are packed with all the experience needed to give you guidance and knowledge about all issues that you might encounter.

Spend 90 days as a German and explore what that country has to offer.

Try Passage’s Work and Travel program and start one of the most memorable chapters of your student life.

Frequently Ask Questions

These are common questions our clients ask and are curious about, but feel free to contact us anytime and give suggestions or ask something you don’t see on the list.

All college and university students.

The minimum wage in Germany is 12.41 EUR/hour. Earnings are paid at the beginning of the month for the previous month, so program participants should bring money for expenses during the first month in Germany. Costs to consider include food (around 150 EUR), accommodation (350-550 EUR), and public transportation in major cities.

Earnings are deposited into a bank account, meaning students open a bank account with a German bank, with the assistance of our agency. Students need to bring the IBAN of their bank account opened in their country and a bank card associated with that account to Germany.

The program organizer or employer may assist in finding accommodation in Germany, usually in apartments with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Students bear the accommodation costs.

The process of obtaining a work permit takes 2-4 weeks. The work permit arrives via email, in electronic form.

The program organizer provides German health insurance for the duration of the work permit’s validity.

Send us via email: a CV in German, English, or Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language and a copy of the passport.

The program runs throughout the year, and you can apply at any time. However, you can only work in Germany during official breaks at your college or university. Most students typically use the long summer break to participate. But you can also use shorter semester breaks of 1-2 weeks!

Program participants can travel around Germany during their free days.

It mostly depends on whether your job requires knowledge of German or often English. For some jobs (e.g., in a restaurant), knowledge of at least A2 level is required, while for other jobs (e.g., in production), knowledge of German is not necessary. In principle, you can apply without knowing German.

However, we recommend learning some German before starting work to navigate Germany better. You don’t need to know German to communicate with Passage – we also speak English and Russian.

There are no limitations here. Activities in restaurants and hotels (kitchen, service, counter), in service industries (sales, cleaning, etc.), in agriculture (harvest assistant, cow driver, tractor driver, processing), or on assembly lines (manufacturing machinery and other goods) are common.

For the Work and Travel Germany program, NO VISA is required. Students receive a work permit upon receiving a job offer, without going to the consulate for an interview.
